This is an amazing song with great lyrics... makes me sad every time I hear it.

Musings of a 30 something, kinda geeky, TV addict scientist. Oh and I have a dog who makes the odd guest appearance!

Vitamins and nothing...
"Is it worth it? Being responsible? Cos if you take your vitamins and pay your taxes, and never cut the line, the universe still gives you people to love, and then lets them slip through your fingers like water, and then what have you got? Vitamins and nothing."
Great quote from the end of episode 16 from Season 7 of GA. It's great because it's true. Being responsible gets you nowhere. Now pass me the vodka and let's start living a little ;o)

Gogobot.com
Gogobot.com is another travel plan webapp. It differs quite widely from TripIt as it concentrates more on the planning side of the trip than the logisitics.
I would go as far as to say Gogobot is more personal and TripIt more for business related travel.
Gogotbot allows the user to create trip plans and then find top places and recommendations from friends and other users. It's useful if you are going somewhere you have never been before because you can ask other users for advice on where to visit etc.

Sorry
... for the lack of posts this week. I have a very sick puppy who has just come out of the vet hospital today. He has an awful lot of drugs to take each day until he is better and a good couple of war wounds from blood tests and drips.
He is currently laying next to me as I write this, fast asleep.
It's horrible to see your dog unwell. I hope he makes a full recovery soon.

Luke Pritchard - Sway acoustic
This song does now make me very sad as it just reminds me of Luis but saying that, it will always be an excellent track and this version is pretty good.

Harry Brown - Official Trailer!
Saw this movie the other night. Actually pretty good. Would definitely recommend anyone give it a watch.
So forum, introduce yourself?
I've been meaning to do this for a while now. I know I have a few regular visitors to "Life and times..." but I don't really know all that much about you guys beyond what Google Analytics tells me about you (hahaha I know where you live!). With that in mind I thought I'd give you the opportunity to introduce yourselves to me and, if you so wish, the rest of the forum :)
Some of you may not be aware that all comments on this blog are regulated by myself, basically meaning that I have to read and approve them before they get posted on the actual site (I'm a control freak, I know). That being the case why not post a comment introducing yourself and if you want it posted up then just say and I'll see what I can do!
Would be nice to know who is reading/listening out there and not just trolling! (Damn trolls)
Look forward to hearing from you.

Ray William Johnson =3
I doubt that anyone has escaped the genius that is =3. I've been watching episodes for just over a year now and they never disappoint. This one is especially funny as Audrey reminds me of my ex! LOLs! No seriously "the comment question" of the day asks something I asked a couple of months ago on here so will be watching next time for responses :)

The 5 Stages of Grief
I find this very interesting. Taken from the Kubler Ross model.
The five stages of grief are:
The five stages of grief are:
1-Denial-"this can't be happening to me", looking for the former spouse in familiar places, or if it is death, setting the table for the person or acting as if they are still in living there. No crying. Not accepting or even acknowledging the loss.
2-Anger-"why me?", feelings of wanting to fight back or get even with spouse of divorce, for death, anger at the deceased, blaming them for leaving.
3-Bargaining-bargaining often takes place before the loss. Attempting to make deals with the spouse who is leaving, or attempting to make deals with God to stop or change the loss. Begging, wishing, praying for them to come back.
4-Depression-overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, frustration, bitterness, self pity, mourning loss of person as well as the hopes, dreams and plans for the future. Feeling lack of control, feeling numb. Perhaps feeling suicidal.
5-Acceptance-there is a difference between resignation and acceptance. You have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly. Realization that it takes two to make or break a marriage (NO IT SOMETIMES TAKES JUST ONE TO CHEAT ON THE OTHER). Realization that the person is gone (in death) that it is not their fault, they didn't leave you on purpose. (even in cases of suicide, often the deceased person, was not in their right frame of mind) Finding the good that can come out of the pain of loss, finding comfort and healing. Our goals turn toward personal growth.
Personally, I have gone 1, 3, 4, 2 and am yet to reach 5.
I think I may be stuck at 2 for quite some time, well at least until I am satisfied that a) he is hurting as much as I did, b) he is suffering as much as I did, c) he has paid in full for lying and cheating on me and d) he has lost EVERYTHING! I joke of course ;-)
